Brick-and-mortar retailer gloomy about future

By Xu Jingxi | China Daily | Updated: 2015-03-31 08:13

Many people working in brick-and-mortar retail stores hold a dim view of their job prospects in the face of strong competition from e-commerce, according to a recent survey by the China office of LinkedIn, the world's biggest business-oriented social networking service.

Together with Business Weekly China magazine, LinkedIn China surveyed 5,262 people in January about workplace pressure in the country's four first-tier cities - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The interviewees were from five fields: Internet, real estate, brick-and-mortar retail, advertising and media.
