Item from March 27, 1987, in China Daily: Deng Xiaoping, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, meets Wu Bosen, secretary of the Communist Party branch committee in Fishermen's Village, considered the richest brigade in China.

Deng made a three-day inspection tour in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Guangdong province.

Pleased with the new prosperity of the zone, Deng wrote a message for the area: "The development and experience of Shenzhen have proved the correctness of the policy in establishing special economic zones."
