Zhanjiang Day
Zhanjiang Day will be held as part of Guangdong Week during the World Expo in Milan, Italy, on Oct 16.
The event will highlight the agricultural advantages and investment environment of Zhanjiang, in line with the expo's theme "feeding the planet, energy for life" and the China pavilion's theme "field of hope, source of life".
Zhanjiang tops the country in sea-cultured pearl production so the expo will include a display of the pearls, with pearl necklace making on offer for visitors to try, according to the city's bureau of commerce.
Handcrafts such as straw-hat making will be demonstrated with audience participation welcome.
Seafood cooked at the venue will also be on offer for hungry visitors.
A trade and investment promotion conference and reception will also be held on the day of the expo.
