Vietnamese artists' design chosen for joint-issue stamp

By Xinhua in Ho Chi Minh City | China Daily | Updated: 2015-03-27 07:37

A stamp and postmark designed by Vietnamese artists will be produced as a joint-issue stamp within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Aug 8 to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the association's founding and the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community.

Artists Vu Kim Lien and Nguyen Du from Vietnam Post won the stamp and postmark contest, which was organized by Thailand Post with help from the post offices of the nine other ASEAN members, Vietnam News daily reported on Thursday.

The flags of the 10 ASEAN members make up the main pattern of the stamp, stitched together to become a flower, while yellow cornflowers represent the substantial potential of ASEAN members to develop their agricultural economies.
