In a first, Web page technology to keep attendees in the loop

By Gao Yuan | China Daily | Updated: 2015-03-27 07:37

People attending this year's Boao Forumfor Asia can keep up to date with proceedings with the help of a mobile information service that makes use of the latest in Web page technology.

The mobile service, unveiled by the forum's organizers, allows those attending to tailor their own schedule and check speakers' information and the conference agenda. Using HTML 5 and other emerging technologies used in building multimedia Web pages, the service can be loaded onto various mobile applications, including WeChat the most used instant messaging platform in China.

HTML 5 is a computer language that greatly improves user interaction and the ability to carry multimedia content, compared with traditional Web page making. It was released in October and has already been taken up by high-end commercial websites.
