Unexpected opportunities of life in China

While home on holiday last month, friends and family were constantly asking what life in China is really like.
Being in New Zealand, which is known for its clean, green image, I found myself prefacing most answers with the qualification, "Apart from the pollution ... "
That was quickly followed by how much I enjoy living in China, and the many reasons why.
