English monarch to be buried 530 years after slain in battle

A cortege carrying the remains of King Richard III was welcomed by thousands of people in Leicester on Sunday after a last journey to the nearby battlefield where he was slain 530 years ago.

The remains of the last English monarch to die in battle were discovered buried under a municipal parking lot in 2012, almost 530 years after he was killed in 1485.
