Medical reform has been high on the government agenda in recent years. Premier Li Keqiang said in his Government Work Report that the government will launch comprehensive pilot projects to deepen medical reformat the provincial level this year. Comments:

Some major hospitals are seeing way too many patients with the clinics jammed with people seeking treatment all day long. You have to wait in line for days to register for an expert doctor. Take Beijing Hospital for example: Half of the patients are from other provinces, even if some diseases are too minor to travel all the way for an expert doctor in the capital. Some hospitals have to limit the registration of expert doctors to give them a break and balance medical resources.
