Lonely female officials 'turn to crime'

By Xu Jingxi | China Daily | Updated: 2015-03-13 09:27

Many corrupt female officials do not have happy relationships or receive enough care from their families, according to Shenzhen's procuratorial authority.

A total of 54 female officials in the city in Guangdong province were investigated and punished for work-related crimes from 2012 to 2014, with the number increasing year by year. Fourteen were accused of corruption and embezzlement.

They held financial and accounting posts that gave them easy access to public funds, the authority told Southern Metropolis Daily.
