Reporter should not fawn over big names

By Raymond Zhou | China Daily | Updated: 2015-03-12 07:27

Wu Yu must have been very proud when she filed her reporter's log that accompanied her profile of a major star, which has since gone viral. To authenticate the details described in her piece, she included photos of herself sitting on the floor with Chen Daoming, who was engaged in "revising her draft", and photos showing Chen's handwritten changes to her printout.

Wu is one of hundreds of reporters swarming the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to cover the ongoing two sessions of the country's top legislature and political advisory body.

Chen, a member of the latter, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is known for his elevated stature in Chinese showbiz.
