Rural improvements set example

China's southernmost Hainan province built 943 eco-villages in 2014 to surpass its goal of 934 set at the beginning of the year, according to a meeting for the province's publicity officials on Jan 30.

Qionghai's experience in building up its picturesque countryside is being promoted nationwide, according to the meeting.

The Office of the Central Spiritual Civilization Development Steering Commission issued articles about the province's efforts in building the eco-villages as well as Qionghai's experiences and urged other regions to follow suit.
