NDRC levies hefty series of fines
The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, has fined a series of commercial banks for illegal and excessive fees charged to many of their customers. A total of 1.59 billion yuan ($253 million) was levied after the NDRC inspected 150 branches of the banks across the country between October 2013 and December 2014.
