Join efforts to build two wings of Asia
Editor's Note: At a two-day international seminar on strengthening maritime trade infrastructure in Asia that ended on Feb 12 at Quanzhou in East China's Fujian province, more than 280 academics and experts from 30 countries and regions offered suggestions on how to build the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Below are excerpts from three participants' proposals:
In less than one and half years since President Xi Jinping announced the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiatives, China and its partners have started delivering fruitful results. China has made substantive progress in policy planning and mechanism building. And through domestic and international conferences, different regions, the academia, the business community, cultural sectors and overseas Chinese communities have been mobilized to contribute to the initiatives.
Major economies and international organizations have welcomed the "Belt and Road Initiatives", as well as the "Silk Road Spirit" and the proposal of Economic Cooperation Corridor.
