"Tao" majored in English at Beijing Language and Culture University, but now lives and works in San Francisco and married a US national in 2014. She declined to be identified when she spoke about her affair with a married exchange student from the US.

I first met "Justin" in Bridge, a coffee shop near my university in 2012, when I was in the second year of my master's degree. As usual, I was doing homework, and rather than study in my dorm or the library, I preferred to spend a few bucks and find a peaceful, cozy corner in a coffee shop after school. Also, coffee shops were good places to find language partners.
