While most of her colleagues are excited about the coming Spring Festival, Shi Wenjing, a financial auditor in Shanghai, said she is under so much pressure that she can barely sleep at night. That's because she is single.
"The pressure from my parents has always been there. I have chosen to visit my parents as little as possible. But I have to go home during Spring Festival," Shi said, adding that it's the hardest time for her every year.
She had a few quarrels with her father, who insisted that she go on blind dates he and her mother arranged and then choose a candidate to develop for marriage. One time, she almost fainted, she said.
