Countries along the Maritime Silk Road were encouraged to jointly rekindle the glory of the ancient maritime route through international cooperation, as experts from around the world gathered on Wednesday for an international seminar on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative.

At a round-table meeting with the theme of "seizing fresh development opportunities and tapping new cooperation prospects", held in Quanzhou, Fujian province, the experts shed light on the innovative measures that will be needed to achieve win-win cooperation with countries along the Maritime Silk Road.

Lukin Alexander, who is director of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations' Center for East Asian and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Studies, said Russia and China should coordinate their interests using the two countries' strategic partnership mechanisms.
