Two young German men will plead guilty to vandalism, an offense punishable by caning, after spray-painting a metro train in Singapore, their lawyer said on Monday.
Lawyer Christopher Bridges said his clients, Andreas Von Knorre and Elton Hinz, both 21, will also enter a guilty plea at a March 5 hearing to two counts of trespassing. They will be sentenced the same day.
Vandalism carries a penalty of up to three years in jail or a fine of up to S$2,000 ($1,480), and between three and eight strokes of a rattan cane - a punishment dating back to British colonial rule in the city-state.
