'The club was a good choice'

In 2012, I gave birth to my son, I was 39, which is considered pretty old to become a mother.
My parents and parents-in-law were too elderly to help out, but good confinement nannies cost about 8,000 yuan ($1,283) a month, and are hard to find, so we decided to opt for a confinement club.
The charges at the one we chose ranged from 29,800 yuan to 58,800 yuan for 28 days. We picked the lower end of the scale, but the service still included five meals a day, daily physical checkups, wound care, breast massage, baby care, showers, and swimming. Every week, doctors from a children's hospital and a maternity hospital arrived to conduct special checkups.
