Through a child's eyes, the world looks better

People are the same around the world, especially the children.

Sure, there are different cultures - languages, clothes, food and politics. But underneath all that, at the core of our inner lives, are universal traits, things that mark us as members of the human family. It's a mix of amiability, curiosity, kindness, warmth, trust, a desire to do well and the ability to laugh and love, to name a few.

All these characteristics are near the surface with children, who haven't yet become skilled at suppressing them. Fighting, hating, grasping and killing are learned; they're not part of our natural state. Most of us can still feel the inner child, but we don't admit it.
