Trilateral security meetings held

The chief nuclear envoys from Japan, the United States and the Republic of Korea met in Tokyo on Wednesday, seeking a "credible dialogue" with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. This is a move that may lead to the resumption of long-stalled Six-Party Talks, local media reported. The six-party negotiations, which involve China, the US, Russia, Japan, the DPRK and the ROK, were initiated in Beijing in August 2003 but have been stalled since December 2008.
