The 100 armoured vehicles, adorned with the Bank of China logo, will soon be rolling near 50 BOC branches in major cities.

China started using customized vans for transporting cash in the 1990s.

From 1997 to 1998, the government rolled out a large number of armoured vans to transport cash for banks nationwide, fueling a sizable market for the vehicles.
