Charity founder offers advice for free

By Yang Ziman | China Daily | Updated: 2015-01-29 07:38

The founder of an online platform that offers free fund-raising and supervisory services to the charity sector says there has been a sharp drop-off in donations to smaller non-profit organisations.

Guo Peng, who launched Imore.net in 2008 in the aftermath of the devastating Wenchuan earthquake in the country's southwestern Sichuan province, says the website offers solutions to charities covering a host of functions including the collection of donations and the distribution of cash. Its operating costs partly come from corporate donations.

At a time of increased public scrutiny of many types of organisation in China, Guo says the real value of Imore is its transparency.
