Media awards announced
The World Media Summit's 2014 Global Awards for Excellence were announced on Tuesday. The award was initiated by Xinhua News Agency, which started the annual World Media Summit in 2009 with eight other leading media organizations including The Associated Press, Reuters and the BBC. Top awards were granted to a reporter with The Hindu, a program team with Al Jazeera Media Network and two reports from Global Post and USA Today.
