Two weeks ago, Beijing rolled out three trains linking its downtown with nearby Yanjiao in Hebei province. But the train times were too early for commuters who live in the county and work in the capital. The trains will be halted next month.

"I thought I wouldn't have to get up at 4:30 am anymore. But the trains are also early and I must take an hour's nap after arriving at the office."
