China Daily | Updated: 2015-01-26 08:04

The United States and its coalition partners have conducted more than two dozen airstrikes against targets of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq in the past two days, the Pentagon said on Saturday.

Thirteen strikes were aimed at targets in Syria using fighter jets, bombers and unmanned drones, the Pentagon said.

Near the Kurdish city Ayn al-Arab, 12 airstrikes hit eight IS tactical units and one large unit, destroying an IS vehicle, a building, and eight fighting positions. An IS mobile oil drilling rig was destroyed by another airstrike near Al Hasakah.
