3,200 official cars go up for auction

The first group of almost 3,200 official vehicles that have been taken out of service by the central government will be auctioned before Spring Festival, according to the National Government Offices Administration. It is expected that 300 of the vehicles will be sold at the first auction. The NGOA said the cars will be sold without license plates, an essential requirement of car ownership in Beijing. The money from the sales will go to the State treasury.
