Chinese 'trapped in Myanmar'

The Chinese embassy in Myanmar is working to verify news reports that hundreds of Chinese have been trapped in a war zone in northern Myanmar, China News Service reported on Sunday. An official with the embassy, whose name was not cited in the report, said on Sunday that the embassy is paying close attention to the situation. The embassy has not received a request for consular protection from Chinese in the war zone, the official said.
