Weekly media briefings announced

The State Council announced on its website on Thursday that it will hold regular media briefings on major policies, with the first one on Friday.

Open to domestic and foreign reporters, the briefings will get important information quickly into the public arena and strengthen awareness of the work of governing bodies through increased transparency, observers said.

The briefings, ushered in by the State Council's General Office and the Information Office, will normally be held on Friday mornings for 30 to 60 minutes at the Information Office's briefing hall.
