Boss scoffs at Socceroos' low ranking

Australia coach Ange Postecoglou said his team has made a mockery of the FIFA rankings after the 100th-ranked Socceroos clobbered Oman to reach the Asian Cup quarterfinals.

Postecoglou said Tuesday's 4-0 victory, which followed a 4-1 thumping of Kuwait in the tournament opener, will have statisticians at world soccer's ruling body scratching their heads.

"People have been saying we haven't playing well, the results haven't been there," said the Aussie boss.
