Cold-hearted talk sign of police arrogance
"You name a price and let's bargain; let's do it, like buying vegetables." These are reportedly the words of senior police officer Yang Lin in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, North China, during his "negotiations" with the family of a female worker who died after allegedly being assaulted by police officers. Comments:
Considering that Yang Lin spoke on behalf of his bureau, it means the local police authorities treat citizens' lives like vegetables, to be disposed of at a small price. That idea, which violates the bottom line of all civilizations, remains popular among many officials in China, and it is a major source of people's hatred toward the authorities. Officials should know that hatred is dangerous.
