Kerry calls for dialogue on Kashmir

China Daily | Updated: 2015-01-14 07:59

US Secretary of State John Kerry is urging India and Pakistan to move their relationship forward through dialogue, saying the United States is concerned about recent violence along their disputed border.

Kerry's comments came during a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday with the Pakistani prime minister's foreign policy adviser, Sartaj Aziz.

The disputed Kashmir region has been a source of tensions between Pakistan and India since both became independent in 1947. Two of the three wars they have fought have been over the disputed Kashmir.
