When China's "Mr Olympics", He Zhenliang, died on Jan 4, the worldwide Olympic family grieved.
The Olympic flag at the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, flew at half-staff for three days from Jan 5, in tribute to the late IOC Honorary Member, who died of illness in Beijing at age 85.
The IOC expressed "great sadness" right after learning about He's death. It described him as "a firm believer in sport's ability to educate, who long championed the teaching of the Olympic values as well as sport in school curricula".
