This Day, That Year

China Daily | Updated: 2015-01-06 07:45

Item from Jan 7, 1991 in China Daily:

"Thousands of Beijingers braved Saturday morning's bitterly cold weather to queue in front of post offices and stamp companies to buy the new stamp to mark 1991 - the Year of the Sheep."

Under the Chinese zodiac, 2015 is the Year of the Sheep. On Monday morning, when the China National Philatelic Corp put out its new stamp commemorating the year, long lines formed at outlets selling the stamps - just like 24 years ago.
