Another 5,340 officials were found to have violated frugality requirements in December, bringing the total number sacked during 2014 to 102,168, the top disciplinary authority said on Monday.

Last month, the officials, who were involved in 4,238 cases, were punished for violating the "eight-point rules", which were first issued in December 2012 to prevent the misuse of public funds in eight areas, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said in its monthly report.
