7 suspected of taking bribes

The Supreme People's Procuratorate is investigating seven officials in Kunshan suspected of accepting bribes during their investigation of a factory blast in the city that killed 146 people on Aug 2, Procuratorial Daily reported on Sunday. The seven officials, including Lu Guanfeng, deputy head of the city's working safety supervision, and Ding Yudong, deputy director of the city's environmental protection bureau, are two of 15 officials detained for suspected dereliction of duty following the blast. Meanwhile, Xu Huimin, deputy mayor of Suzhou, was named Kunshan's Party secretary to replace Guan Aiguo, who was sacked after the accident.
