Innovation, passion for pure air at industry-leading Blueair

In less than 20 years, Sweden's Blueair has grown into the world's leading maker of premium indoor air purifiers that remove PM2.5 particles, volatile organic compounds, allergens, viruses and other airborne contaminants from home and workplace air.

Blueair was founded in Stockholm by Bengt Rittri, a Swedish entrepreneur with a deep passion for healthy living that took hold while traveling across Asia and the United States as a student. Shocked by how many people lived in heavily polluted urban environments with little access to clean air and water, he promised himself that one day he would run a business geared to improve people's well-being.

In 1986 that dream came true when Rittri left his top executive job with a global home appliance maker to start Blueair. His avowed mission was to give people the opportunity to breathe cleaner, healthier air and drink contaminant-free water at home or work.
