Family ties, careers pull Chinese home

By Xu Wei | China Daily | Updated: 2014-12-29 07:40

Family ties, good job opportunities and the possibility of a faster career path are the key factors that cause Chinese people working and studying overseas to return home, a survey has found.

The study, conducted by British recruitment company Hays, found that 41 percent of those polled are motivated to return in order to live closer to family, and 25 percent expect to have a speedier career path in China. Thirteen percent miss the culture and lifestyle in China.

Hays spoke to 454 Chinese who are either studying or working overseas, but are thinking about returning home for their next career move.
