Greater autonomy for medical staff helps to boost sector's growth

Medical reform has been high on the agenda of the Beijing municipal government to improve services over the past year. China Daily staff reporter Wang Xiaodong has talked to people in all areas of the field to explore the progress achieved and the challenges ahead.

Before Yu Ying set up her own clinic in Beijing in June, she didn't expect that finding skilled doctors would be so easy.

"Many of the doctors I had gotten to know previously called me when they heard I was putting together a new clinic, and they volunteered to work part time for me," she said.
