8.11 million enterprises were engaged in the service sector in China at the end of 2013, the latest official data revealed on Tuesday. The total was nearly triple the number in the manufacturing sector, according to the results of a nationwide economic census published by the National Bureau of Statistics. The census found that 10.86 million enterprises were engaged in the two sectors at the end of last year, up 52.9 percent from 2008.
