Captives seen fleeing building during 16-hour standoff in central Sydney
A swarm of heavily armed officers stormed a downtown cafe in Sydney early on Tuesday where a gunman had been holding an unknown number of people.
Two people, including the hostage-taker, were reportedly killed, and several more injured, however the fatalities remained unconfirmed at press time.
