Court's rule to restrict travel

By Cao Yin | China Daily | Updated: 2014-12-15 07:45

China's top court plans to restrict those who refuse to obey court verdicts - including debtors - from traveling by high-speed rail in a bid to get them to follow judicial judgments.

The country is considering revising a judicial interpretation that would ban them from using high-speed rail and the first-class section of ships and trains, the Supreme People's Court said on Saturday.

Under the interpretation, issued by the top court in October last year, people who refuse to follow through on court judgments are forbidden from taking a flight or selecting soft seats on a train. They also face restrictions when applying for credit cards and loans.
