China needs a chairman of the board

By Gao Qihui | China Daily | Updated: 2014-12-13 08:05

A snowboarding equivalent of tennis icon Li Na would ignite Chinese interest in the sport, says Andrew Hour-mont, co-founder of the Air& Style event that hit Beijing on Dec6.

It might be a bit of a wait, however, as He Wei was eliminated in the first round of the competition.

He, the only Chinese rider in the high-profile competition, managed only 58.3 points in the first round, the second lowest of 24 contestants. Canadian Maxence Parrot was the leader at 97, while eventual overall winner Emil Ulsletten of Norway scored 93.33 in the final round.
