SHAN JIXIANG, curator of Beijing's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, talking about the first event due to be held next year at a new exhibition space. The Yanchi House at the Meridian Gate is being converted into a 2,800-square-meter hall to display world cultural relics. The restoration is expected to be completed in May, and the exhibition will mark the museum's 90th anniversary on Oct 10, 2015. The Yanchi House will be opened to the public ahead of the anniversary.
