Passenger deploys emergency exit slide

The rear door emergency exit slide of an airliner suddenly popped out when a passenger deployed it as the plane landed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport on Monday night, Legal Evening News reported. China Eastern Airlines confirmed the accident. No injuries were reported. Experts said economic loss caused by the accident might reach more than 100,000 yuan ($16,400), including the cancellation of scheduled flights, as the plane was required to return to a hangar for examination and maintenance.
