Illegal requests of UK MPs
China resumed sovereignty over Hong Kong on July 1, 1997, and what happens in Hong Kong since then is China's domestic affairs. It is incredible that UK members of parliament are attempting to "investigate" the situation in Hong Kong, because that violates China's sovereignty as well as agreements reached between two countries. The UK members of parliament must know their requests are illegal.
Wen Wei Pao, Dec 3
By requesting they "investigate" in Hong Kong, the UK members of parliament are trying to impose their values upon China and interfere in China's domestic affairs. They should be clear that Britain's past role in Hong Kong was colonial rule, obtained through military invasion. Their rule ended in 1997, but it seems certain parliament members are lost in the past colonial days, unable to face reality. We are now in the 21st century, please give up illusion.
