Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini raised hopes that Vincent Kompany could be fit for his side's Champions League showdown with Roma after the Premier League champion crushed Sunderland 4-1 on Wednesday.
The injured City captain missed the comfortable win at the Stadium of Light, which kept the defending champion on the heels of leader Chelsea. He will also sit out Saturday's visit by Everton.
But Pellegrini revealed after the game that the 28-year-old Belgian international's hamstring problem is not as serious as first feared.
