Eco resort a real escape from busy city lifestyle

By Tang Zhihao in Shanghai | China Daily | Updated: 2014-12-05 08:00

For people who appreciate the beauty of nature and want to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life, the naked Stables Resort in the Mogan Mountain area of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is a must-go site.

The upscale resort, which is two and a half hours away from Shanghai, was founded by South African Grant Horsfield to reflect the philosophy of stripping away a busy city lifestyle and restoring balance through closeness to nature.

"What we offer is something professional hotel operators have never done in China before. It is an experience of nature," said Horsfield. The businessman, who worked in China-South African trading in Shanghai, found himself overwhelmed by the metropolis and missed the natural beauty of his home so established the resort.
