80,000 officials have been disciplined for breaching corruption rules as of late September, according to a statement from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The statement said some 38,000 officials had been punished for dereliction of duty. The remainder were disciplined for the indiscreet use of public vehicles; using public funds for personal entertainment; lazy work practices; and accepting gifts.
