Hangzhou to host worlds

World swimming governing body FINA on Tuesday confirmed Hangzhou will host the 2018 world short-course championships.

China's eastern coastal city beat Lima, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates for the right to host the event.

"The city of Hangzhou will offer optimal conditions for the organization of these championships. There is a very strong commitment from the local authorities to have this event in this dynamic metropolis," said FINA president Dr Julio C. Maglione.
