Left-behind children suffer more injuries

A new report showed that left-behind children, whose parents work in cities far from home, experience more accidental injuries, according to people.com.cn, which cited a report jointly released by the China Youth and Children Research Center and other institutions. About 49.2 percent of left-behind children experienced accidental injuries in the past year, about 7.9 percent higher than those who had parents around, according to the report. The injuries included cuts, burns and bites or scratches by animals.
